Our Mission

The Millington Housing Authority is a non-profit/governmental agency that is federally funded by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). We are governed by a Board of Commissioners that are appointed by the Mayor. We have been serving the Millington area since 1959. The Millington Housing Authority's mission is to provide affordable homes for all. TMHA is working to meet the need for quality affordable housing; utilize housing as a platform for improving quality of life.

Programs

The Millington Housing Authority only administers the Public Housing program. WE ARE NOT A SECTION 8 PROGRAM.

The MHA Public Housing program is income-based housing. It was established to provide quality affordable rental housing opportunities for eligible extremely low-income families, seniors, and persons with disabilities. In income-based housing, residents pay 30% of their income for rent. The MHA determines how much your rent will be based on your income and any eligible deductions and exclusions. Residents are responsible to pay their rent on time, pay their utilities, maintain the unit in good condition and notify The MHA of any changes in income or family composition.

The Millington Housing Authority manages 89 public housing units, scattered sites in Millington.
